I started taping off and sanding our walls Saturday night, and Ryan and I finished the sanding on Sunday. Monday night we primed the walls with a blue primer that is similar to what we were thinking for paint. It was a shock to go from white walls to medium blue walls. We decided we'll have to paint the dining room too!
We find that the primer color is a bit too purple-blue for us. We were trying to go for a grayer blue. We think we've found a blue family that works for us, but will have to view it in the daylight to verify. It was kind of nice to try out a color with the primer so we don't have to re-paint.
We've been looking at countertop samples, but still haven't decided anything yet. We are waiting for some quotes before making a decision. We did decide Monday night on a faucet and door handles/knobs. And we paid the contractor. It's amazing how fast you can spend money!
