Here it is, February 2007 and we've been delinquent in writing newsletters, although we have been updating our kitchen remodel blog fairly regularly.
So, Marotz family updates. Ryan is busy at work. Sarah is busy at work. In fact, we both have gotten more responsibilities in the last few months at work.
Zachary moved up to the big gym in gymnastics. We've had a rough transition, with a couple of weeks where he refused to participate and cried about going. Ryan worked with him at home, Sarah bribed him with ice cream, and now he happily participates and says he has fun again. He tested into the second beginner's level and will sign up for the spring session. He started swimming lessons in January, and again had a tough time. He was afraid to put his head in the water or let go of his teacher to do the activities. Again, we worked with him in the bathtub, bought goggles and ear plugs, and he has gained much more confidence. He has a great, fun swim teacher and has learned to float and some swim strokes. Preschool is going well and we have an open house to sign him up for kindergarten next week.
Gabriel has 5 1/2 teeth now and is starting to eat table food. His favorite activity is crawling up and down the stairs, and also loves to pull up on all the furniture to 'cruise'. He likes to bounce and jump and is starting to understand and follow directions. He really likes his older brother and they play together really nicely.
We are excited about the kitchen remodel in progress, but getting tired of the mess and late nights. Hopefully much of the work will be done in the next few weeks and life will get back to normal.
