The kitchen is finally complete. The last month and a half was waiting for the pendant lights to get in off of backorder. During that time, we bought and installed new window treatments. The old window treatments were custom colors that did not match our current color scheme. They also did not let much light get through. Our new window treatments are a neutral off-white. They also allow light to come through, so while they give us privacy, the rooms are bright.
The pendant lights were just installed. Apparently there was a shortage of this glass someplace. Then they had to be hand blown in Italy before being assembled in China and slow boat delivery to the U.S. So the lights are finally in and they look good. Sarah and I are glad that we waited for these to come in.
The latest pictures also show our stove installed. The new stove is really nice. In contrast to our old one, this one actually heats food quickly. The preheat doesn't take half an hour like the old one. We are trying to get used to the stove and microwave because they both cook food faster than our old appliances.
We are currently looking around for bar stools at the raised countertop between kitchen and dining room. Hopefully we'll have those purchased in the next week or two and I'll post pictures when they get in.
